The Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation 2025/40 (PPWR)

The new EU Regulation on packaging and packaging waste No. 2025/40 has cleared its final hurdle and was published at the end of last year. Comprehensive changes are coming to the packaging industry. What impact will the new regulation have on food packaging in particular? The newly inserted Article 5 (5) introduces extensive exemptions for food packaging in accordance with Regulation 1935/2004.
